WHAT IS SPONSORSHIP?
The sponsorship relationship enables an individual sponsor to help support a child in need by means of monthly or yearly contributions. Your sponsorship donations through OneMama go towards providing basic education needs such as tuition fees, school supplies and uniforms, boarding, food, among other services, so that an orphan living in poverty has the opportunity to overcome the barriers that keep them from attending school, getting an education, and having opportunity in life.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A SPONSOR?
A sponsor’s support and friendship are priceless to a child living in such circumstances. Many children value the relationships they establish with their sponsors as much as they value the financial support they receive from them. There is an opportunity to build a relationship between sponsor and child that can create a lifetime ripple of joy and opportunity.
HOW LONG CAN I SPONSOR A CHILD IN UGANDA?
Our sponsorship is for the educational journey of the orphans in our program. Your sponsorship and support will last until a child graduates from secondary school and can even continue on to the university level, if the child continues their education post-secondary.
WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF SCHOOLING IN UGANDA?
Primary School:
Tuition: $360 for three terms or $30/month for 12 months
Boarding: $300 for three terms or $25/month for 12 months
Combined T & B: $660 for 3 terms or $55/month for 12 months
Secondary School:
Tuition: $600 for three terms or $50/month for 12 months
Boarding: $300 for three terms or $25/month for 12 months
Combined T & B: $900 for 3 terms or $75/month for 12 months
Post Secondary / University:
Tuition: $1,200 / yr for fees & boarding or $100/mo. for 12 months
WHO ADMINISTERS THE CHILD EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM?
Our program is administered by our trusted on-site volunteer coordinator who has direct access to the children under OneMama's sponsorship program. Along with the administrative roles of OneMama team members, we all make sure that your donated funds go to your directly sponsored orphan's school.
Note that your donations are combined with other sponsors to accommodate all the educational needs of your sponsored child throughout their years in school. No child will go un-sponsored so if your sponsored child has enough donations for their immediate needs, the left over money from collective donations will go to one of our other child orphans in our program.
